Wine Making Kits: House of Hambleton

Wine making kits from the House of Hambleton are produced from high quality varietal grapes like Nebbiolo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and others. The grapes we use are carefully chosen from the northern Italian regions and from around the world.

RED WINES: Cabernet Sauvignon, Nebbiolo, Merlot, Pinot Nero and Bordeaux Style.

WHITE WINES: Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, White Rioja, Semillon Blanc, Gewurztraminer and Liebfraumilch

House of Hambleton are available in both a 23-litre (5 Gallon) version and a 4.5 litre version (1 Gallon). Both versions include sugar - just add water!

Winemaking using variteal grapes

Of course you should use Cabernet Sauvignon grapes to make a Cabernet Sauvignon wine. It may seem silly to point it out but the fact is that many winemaking kits out there contain no-name grapes not grown for wine production.

When designing the House of Hambleton range, they saw the need for pure varietal grape as raw material and by sticking to 100% natural ingredients - no flavorings, no F-packs or other funny names often used to hide the fact that the raw material was "spiced up".

They believe in 100% natural ingredients for a perfect result.

Once you have tried a wine making kit from the House of Hambleton, you will realize that home winemaking can be taken to commercial quality.

Varietal yeast strains

When they developed their top of the range, the Grand Superior wine making kit, they found that by using different strains of yeast for each variety, they could get even closer to the perfect commercial result. Some yeast strains are simply better handling harsh Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and others better promote the grassy aroma of a Sauvignon Blanc.

We are using this technique also in the new improved House of Hambleton range of kits

Varietal oak chippings

Many of you may have found that if you use oak chippings when making a red wine, you get a better end result. They have found that by using high quality wine making oak chippings, different for different varietal grapes, this approach can be taken even further. Surprisingly enough it also applies to white wine kits - as long as you use the right oak.

All wine-kits in the new improved House of Hambleton range contain different types of oak chippings for maximum quality.
